I started HarmCityGear.com in 2005 with a handful of sketches and an idea. As a Baltimore native, Ive always had a love/hate relationship with the city that bleeds. Id love Harm City if I didnt hate it so much. The heroin, the crime, the filth - honestly, Baltimore is getting as bad as Filthadelphia. But I love the people. I love all the crazy, mixed up nutballs that do things like decorate their houses and cars with thousands of plastic toys and a hot glue gun. People are friendly in Baltimore. It seems like a strange thing to say about a city that has one of the highest per-capita murder rates in the nation, but its true. Ive lived in a lot of different places in my life, but none of them are as different as Baltimore. You either love Baltimore or you hate it, and it will love or hate you back. Baltimore is real. Baltimore is honest. After meeting so many fake-ass people in this country, Baltimore will always be home to me. I started this website to sell t-shirts that show how I feel about Baltimore. Not the tourist postcard of the inner harbor version of Baltimore - The hustler on the corner, a-rab vegetable cart, Lexington market, what-the-fuck-is-wrong-with-people-in-Hamden version of Harm City that I grew up with.
