We never stop altering existing patterns or introducing new styles. Fabric, colour, texture and style are parmount to The Ark and all design and production happens on home ground, with our team welecom to offer up their opinions, advice and feedback at any stage..So go and enjoy our clothing. We do. In 1990, while good friends Christine Metcalfe and Jenny Layton were at home with little kids, they decided to create a range of childrens clothing (in between playing with Lego and doing the kinder drop!!). Their stylish, durable range became very popular amongst friends and family, and soon they had a steady stream of orders. When it became clear that the mums also wanted stylish, durable clothing to run around in (especially pre or post pregancy) The Ark was well and trully afloat.
