We are the spinner, knitter and designer of Sheepish Designs quality garments. Throughout the crafting process, no chemicals are used. Everything is totally natural. We learned to knit at an early age, helping my mother. As I got older my grandmother then taught me to spin. I then combined my two loves - spinning and knitting. When our own family (husband and 3 children) had enough jumpers, there was still an abundance of creative energy left so I joined craft shops and began selling at craft markets - something that I still do. We have taken opportunities to attend relevant workshops to increase my knowledge and skills, so my garments are created and finished to an exacting standard. The yarn is handspun from the lovely soft fleeces of our famous New Zealand Romney sheep. This wool is then knitted into classic garments which highlight the natural colours of the wool. We handle all aspects of the production. There is no outworking involved. Using these skills, I will create for you a uniquely New Zealand garment, a garment that is well made, comfortable and warm, a garment that will last for years, regardless of the fashion changes.
