Queen of Goth in Clothing Suppliers & Clothes Directory

My name is Jane Hilton and I come from Northampton in England. Ive been sewing since the age of 5 making my own dolls clothes, it was something I learnt from my mum who was a dressmaker. The only thing I loved at school was sewing, well lets face it theres not much else. At the age of 16, much to my parents horror, I started designing my own clothes. Ive always had a passion for creating clothes that are a bit different. This collection of designs has many inspirations. My first being that red velvet dress that Fenella Fielding wore in Carry On Screaming - what a vamp! I have always been into vampire/horror movies and many inspirations have come from them. So its probably no surprise that when looking at my local newspaper one night, I saw a peice on a local band who had a single just released called Bela Lugosi is dead, and the band Bauhaus. Seeing them live for the first time was such an experience that I was inspired to create gothic outfits. My female idol is Siouxsie of Siouxsie and the Banshees, her outfits were always so fantastic, and my favourite fashion designer has to be Vivienne Westwood who has come a long way from her punk days. The designs have been kept simple due to difficulties in offering a made to measure service. I have relied on the fabrics, colour and detail to make what I think is the ultimate Gothic Capsule Wardrobe. The skirts and bodices can be mixed and matched to create your own designs, and all fabrics have a slight amount of stretch to give you a better fit.
