Playdead Cult in Clothing Suppliers & Clothes Directory
Playdead Cult presents to you a case of finding beauty in the strangest of places. Featuring clothing adorned with the art of Stu Andrenelli, who draws inspiration from the world as he interprets it through his A.D.D. ridden brain, and finished with Beans O.C.D. eye for detail, each piece in the Playdead clothing line becomes not just a T shirt or skirt but a piece of (dys)functional art. The Playdead story began in 1999 when co-founders Bean and Stu took their ambition to start a revolution of their own and created a collective of various media, which is still evolving and always joining forces with like-minded individuals. They won?t stop striving until they have their very own Playdead theme park, touring circus, and city. Playdeads motto is For the Black Collar Worker - Playdead Cult is for everyone who doesnt fit in anywhere else. Playdead preaches that if you cant find your place in this world, create one for yourself. The studio warehouse is where all the creating takes place. Playdeads staff consists of a small group of friends with contrasting styles and interests that come together daily to hand print, sew and tag each piece of clothing and art that is showcased in the store. The Playdead Cult has also stitched together a series of most fortunate events over the years, offbeat gatherings that easily, almost effortlessly fuse art, music, film, and people into a happy laid-back monster. For the past seven and a half years Playdead has been stirring up a cult-like following in the underground arts and music scene. Up until this year they have been focused on filling a local demand by opening their own retail store in Toronto, a store that has become a landmark in the city with its unique and eye-catching anti-aesthetic. Throughout Playdeads reign there has been a kind of hushed excitement among those who discovered the brand and wear it proudly. A fear that word would spread, and their secret would be out to the masses. But this year, Playdead is spreading internationally.
